PITA BREAD



Ingredients:

1cup warm water (90-100 degrees F)

1 tbs sugar

1 tbs yeast

2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cups atta flour

1 tsp salt

1 tbs oil 


Instructions:

- Activate yeast by adding sugar and yeast to the warm water. Keep aside for about 10mins or till it foams up.

- Add flour, atta flour, salt into a bowl and mix well.

- Once yeast is activated, pour into flour mixture and mix well till all flour incorporated.

-  Add the oil and knead till it forms a soft dough but not sticky

- Make it into a round smooth bowl.

- Grease the same bowl or another bowl with oil , place the dough in it. Rub oil on it. Keep covered till it rises double. Around 11/2 hours to 2hours depending on the humidity and weather.

- Once risen in double place on work table and slightly punch it , flatten out to a 1cm circle.

-Cut into 6 equal parts. Roll into a balls and keep covered with cling film/ baking sheet/ clothe for 15 mins. 

- Dust the work table with flour , and roll the ball about 1/2 centimeter thick.

- Heat a pan /tawa on medium high , place the roti on it. Once 

you see small bubbles coming up, flip it. Bigger bubbles will pop up flip again.

- It will start puffing up. When puffed fully remove from pan to a plate. 

- Repeat with rest of the balls.

* You can cut in half and fill in with your choice of filling.
